J.J. Abrams Uses The Force

Kodak, the storied film company which some may remember from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, is getting a third, if not infinite act. J.J. Abrams (director of Lost and the recent Star Trek reboot) along with a handful of other Hollywood notables have lobbied Hollywood to continue to use Kodak film. Abrams aims to shoot the upcoming Star Wars trilogy entirely on film, thus preserving Kodak’s legacy now and for future generations. The film “cans” are of course emblazoned by the identity program Brian Collins had lead. Others who worked on the Kodak brand program include designers Allen Hori, Weston Bingham, Christian Cervantes and David Hartman.

J.J. Abrams spoke with the Wall Street Journal from the movie’s London set about why he still believes in film and why he lobbied major studios to work with Kodak to keep it alive.
