AIGA Mix Gifs

We’ve been obsessed with slitscanning--processes used to compress time-based media into static images--lately, especially after reading Golan Levin’s survey of the technique. So, to complement our NSFW posters, we built a Kinect-powered GIF slit-scan photobooth for AIGA’s July MIX party.

Designers were scanned live in 3D, run through a slit-scan process, comped over a mash-up of sharks/Baywatch/stock beach videos, and pumped onto our AIGA MIX Tumblr. We hope they’re OK.
